This article includes the story of a survivor of a 16 year old girl trafficked into sex slavery. During a walk with her sister when they were approached by a Mexican man and woman. They offered them a job cleaning houses. She then accepted because she was in need of money. During her transport she realized they had lied and she was not going to be cleaning houses. Upon her arrival to where she was trafficked to she was taken to a dark room, where she was chained and drug. Her “boss” was now a man in his 60s. During her years in sex slavery she endured emotional, sexual and physical abuse.
In efforts to turn to her negative and horrible experience into something positive that can benefit society, she now works in awareness. In addition to sharing her story, she also works to educate society so they can identify trafficking.
If you want to learn more about identifying trafficking, please read my page above for some tips.
