Benefit Event for Genesis Project in Washington State

Jazz Benefit Event in Washington

For those in Washington state, I came across an event for you! According to their web post this will be a FREE event showcasing Summer Art/Jazz Night at Burien’s Evergreen Church from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m. on Friday, June 10th at the Evergreen Church, located at 17700 First Avenue South.

They stated in the website there will be music of award winning Karen Shivers jazz quartet, and meet some local artists  and view their new artwork.

Artists listed for this show include:

  • Betty Vacca
  • Beverly Taylor
  • Jim Krug
  • Jerome Damey
  • Corry Damey

For more info on the artists, please see the website listed in the top of this blog post. The proceeds for this event go towards a Christian non-profit called Genesis Project. Their website is PHENOMENAL! Please check it out! There are several amazing statistics on it! I will list some from their website here:

  • Most DMST (Domestic Minor Sex Trafficking) victims will not state that they need protection from a pimp, as they “believe” that they are in love with their pimp, and that their pimp loves them as well.
  • A minor involved in trafficking has a lifespan of 7-10 years

Their mission statement on their website states:

As a non-profit outreach of The Corridor, The Genesis Project exists to offer hope for a new life to young women and girls involved in Domestic Minor Sex-Trafficking (DMST) in the South King County area.

On their website, they have listed contact and resources to get involved with their non-profit.
